Transformations are intentional changes to living systems; governance enables society to implement these changes through rules, norms, and institutions. In a co-creation of knowledge by science and society, we aim to better understand the socio-ecological dynamics of contemporary transformation and how governance can be designed according to ethical standards. One focus is on common goods. What is the role of common resources, goods, and property rights systems in social-ecological transformations that are sustainable, regenerative, and resilient?
